Story & heritage
The Light Speed Compression Shorts carry the same MCS language as the full tight into a shorter race and training format. Official copy describes them as developed from the impact running has on the legs, with the goal of reducing muscle movement, damage and fatigue.
They are also independently recognized in running and fitness coverage: GQ highlighted 2XU Light Speed as a heavy-workout compression short because of its targeted compression and muscle-containment technology.
Materials & craft
The product page identifies MCS targeted compression, waistband storage and quick-drying durable yarns. In practical terms, the short is engineered around the thighs and waistband: compression where impact loads the quads, and pockets for phone, cards, keys and gels.
How to choose & style
This is the 2XU piece to wear when full tights are too warm. It works as an outer half-tight for tempo runs and gym sessions, or under split shorts when you want support with a more traditional running silhouette.
