Story & heritage
The Ricco carries Alexander Wang’s most famous bag language forward. Alexander Wang launched his first handbag collection in 2008, and Vogue reported in October 2009 that the stud-bottom Rocco had generated a Barneys waiting list of more than 400 people. CR Fashion Book later framed the Ricco as the 2024 update to that Rocco vocabulary, retaining the pebble-leather attitude and replacing the original hardware with lighter trap studs.
This current small version keeps the idea compact: the official page describes a top-zip bag with shoulder and crossbody straps, “primal” lambskin leather and lightweight trapezoidal trap studs.
Materials & craft
The official product page lists lambskin; lining: 100% polyester; dimensions: 22x12x9cm / 8.7x4.7x3.5in; shoulder & crossbody straps: 90cm/147cm / 35.4in/57.9in; made in Vietnam. The craft story is therefore grounded in visible construction — shape, closure, strap, sole, logo or textile surface — rather than an invented atelier narrative.
How to choose & style
Choose Ricco Small Bag when the outfit needs a hard-edged bag accent. It works best with the Alexander Wang vocabulary of black, denim, leather, shine and compact proportions; keep the rest of the look clean so the rocco revival detail reads clearly.
