Life on Mars Collection
A space-age burst of colour from Palmer’s official fashion archive.
Story & heritage
The official Alice Palmer fashion archive lists Life on Mars as one of the label’s named collections. Contemporary coverage identified it as an SS 2014 line and described its cosmic-influenced pieces, bright watercolour effects and galactic patterns.
It belongs to the later phase of Palmer’s knitwear label, after her London, Paris, Tokyo and New York presentations and the Textile Brand of the Year recognition noted in her biography.
Materials & craft
Engineered knit surfaces carry the collection’s space and colour references across fitted dresses, jumpsuits and separates. The visual language is consistent with Palmer’s documented interest in pattern, form, shape and unconventional knit construction.
How to choose & style
Treat these archived Alice Palmer pieces as visual anchors rather than current retail basics: the strongest looks need little styling beyond clean shoes, minimal jewellery and room for the engineered knit pattern to read.
For a contemporary edit, choose the quieter silhouettes when the pattern is loud, or use the more sculptural pieces as gallery-like evening statements.
