Story & heritage
Alviero Martini is known for the 1A Classe clothing-and-accessories range built around a map motif; the designer’s biography connects that language to an antique map that inspired the first handbag collection, and the company dates its Milan founding to 1991.
The official women’s navigation separates backpacks, bucket and belt bags inside the bag offer, while Farfetch currently lists Geo Classic backpacks and map-print backpacks for the brand.
Materials & craft
The official tradition page describes the Geo fabric as a precise multi-pass colour process that turns raw canvas into a parchment-like map surface, with models drawn by hand in Italy before becoming bags and accessories.
The backpack family keeps the same coated-map visual language but adds commuting structure: top handles, zipped compartments, adjustable straps and leather-trimmed stress points.
How to choose & style
Use it as the practical Geo icon: strongest with trench coats, knit sets, airport outfits and neutral sneakers. The rounded versions feel softer; square travel versions look more utility-led.
