Ariat was founded in 1993 by Beth Cross and Pam Parker, who saw an opportunity to apply athletic-shoe technology to English and Western riding boots. The brand was named after Secretariat and grew from riding footwear into Western apparel, workwear and accessories for riders, workers and outdoor life.
