Story & heritage
Batsheva Hay established her label in 2016 after having a beloved vintage Laura Ashley dress remade, and the prairie vocabulary became the house signature: modest, whimsical, high-necked and deliberately old-fashioned in outline.
The official store calls this Square Neck Mini Prairie Dress one of the brand’s best-selling styles. In mini length, the familiar puff shoulder and ruffled cuff compress the label’s prairie language into a sharp party-dress proportion.
Materials & craft
This edition is cut in electric blue silk velvet with ruffle detailing at the cuffs, side-seam pockets and a simple back zip. The official product page lists 100% silk velvet, hand-wash or dry-clean care, and New York City production.
How to choose & style
Wear it as the dressed-up version of the Batsheva uniform: opaque tights and flats keep the prairie shape grounded, while a tiny heel turns the velvet into an evening dress. The square neckline is strongest when left uncluttered.
