Founded in 2009 by designers Andrew Fallshaw and Hadrien Monloup with engineers Lina Calabria and Matthew Fallshaw, Bellroy made its name on slim wallets, launching its first in August 2010. The name comes from the towns of Bells Beach and Fitzroy, where the company keeps offices — a designer-meets-engineer pairing that shows in the precision of the goods.
The brand is an official supplier to Apple Inc. In 2019 it announced a partnership with New York growth-equity firm Silas Capital and was valued at $83 million; by 2021 it was voted Australia's best small-business workplace, and by 2023 it had over 100 employees.
