Story & heritage
Ben Sherman began in Brighton in 1963, when Arthur Benjamin Sugarman set out to make his own version of the Oxford cloth American button-down shirts sought by London jazz fans. The brand made its early mark with button-down collared shirts, quickly becoming part of the modernist uniform.
This current Oxford shirt keeps that lineage close: Ben Sherman lists it with a two-finger button-down collar, curved hem and embroidered B branding on the chest.
Materials & craft
The official product page states 100% cotton, a tailored fit, long sleeves and button fastening. The visible Oxford stripe gives the shirt its neat, graphic rhythm without moving away from the brand’s clean shirting base.
How to choose & style
Wear it the classic way: buttoned up with chinos and loafers, or open over a white tee when the outfit needs less formality. Pale stripe colours work especially well under a Harrington because the collar still reads sharply.
