Brand history notes that Berghaus entered footwear in the early 1990s with hiking boots, after years of clothing and equipment innovation. VC22 is a current expression of that footwear line: waterproof, grippy and built for mixed outdoor use.

The mid-height version is the most Berghaus-coded shape because it sits between trail shoe speed and boot-like confidence, the same compromise many weekend walkers actually need.

Official product data for VC22 Mid highlights GORE-TEX waterproofing, Ortholite cushioning and advanced grip. The mid cut adds ankle coverage without turning it into a heavy boot.

How to choose & style

Keep it technical: tapered walking trousers, waterproof pants, or a simple shell-and-fleece setup. The black/red colourway is the archive-flavoured option; dark brown and green reads more classic hillwalking.
