Story & heritage
Brioni labels the Appia as an official icon and gives the page the line The Roman way. It is the footwear counterpart to the house’s softer tailoring: refined, low-profile and designed to sit naturally with suits, knitwear and overshirts.
The official Appia page lists penny and tassel versions across suede, nubuck and deerskin leather, with the core price shown consistently in the US store.
Materials & craft
Current Appia variants include deerskin leather, suede and nubuck. The penny strap and tassel forms keep the shoe classic while the softer leathers make it easier with relaxed Brioni pieces.
The icon is less formal than a lace-up but more polished than a sneaker, which is exactly why it belongs beside the Travel Jacket, Jardigan and Trama polo.
How to choose & style
Black deerskin works with evening-leaning tailoring; brown suede and nubuck are better with beige, navy and travel wardrobes. Keep the trouser break minimal so the loafer’s low shape stays visible.
