The label was started by entrepreneurs Dedy Shwartzenberg and Zvika Alon — Shwartzenberg had previously worked with the Israeli fashion company Adika. It grew up on TikTok, where the #edikted hashtag drew 183.6 million views by 2022 and the brand's account reached 820,000 followers by 2025, fuelled by mobile pop-up events touring US colleges and universities.
From a purely online start, Edikted moved into physical retail: its first brick-and-mortar store opened in New York in 2023, and the company now operates eleven US stores from SoHo and The Grove to the Mall of America and Irvine Spectrum.
