Story & heritage
The Empire SLX II Shoe is grounded in Giro’s 2010 footwear move, when the brand says it debuted cycling shoes that stood out for fit, comfort and adaptability.
Official copy calls the Empire SLX II an update to the icon that reimagined laces, and says it is the best iteration of the shoe that redefined laces.
Materials & craft
Giro lists a flat knitted Synchwire upper with thermally bonded TPU skin, seven classically positioned lace eyelets, and a forged carbon fiber outsole plate said to improve stiffness by 20Nm. Official copy gives a 221gm package for size 43.
How to choose & style
Choose this piece by the ride first: fast road, trail, snow or gravity use changes the right shell, lens or sole more than colour does.
For styling, Giro works best as technical punctuation: matte blacks stay minimal, while white, sage, blue or high-visibility finishes make the equipment a visible part of the kit.
