Story & heritage
Hood By Air began as a T-shirt project in 2006 and formalized its graphic-driven Hood By Air Classics line in 2009, before expanding into full ready-to-wear. This long sleeve belongs to that lineage: a blunt text piece that treats the shirt as manifesto rather than merch.
Vogue later partnered on the phrase for its 125th-anniversary HBA shirt, which helped cement “Never Trust a Vogue Girl” as one of the label's best-known provocations. The current official HBA store reprises it on a heavyweight long sleeve with the slogan pushed across the back.
Materials & craft
The official product page describes a heavyweight cotton jersey body with elongated sleeves and a clean front, letting the back slogan carry the entire charge. The cut stays simple on purpose: the drama comes from scale, typography, and the stark black-and-white treatment.
How to choose & style
Treat it like the purest HBA uniform piece: oversized, dark, and slightly severe. It works best when the back print is allowed to read fully, so pair it with straight jeans, wide trousers, or shorts rather than another layer over the shoulders.
