Story & heritage
The Pencil Cat Nano is the compact, crossbody reading of Lanvin's Cat bag. Where the full Pencil Cat is a slim desk-box drawn from Jeanne Lanvin's pencil cases, the Nano keeps the same vocabulary — the box body, the house clasp, the sculptural cat handle — at a scale meant to be worn rather than carried.
Its gilded feline handle reprises the cat andiron designed for Jeanne Lanvin by Armand-Albert Rateau, and the gold clasp carries the Lanvin mother-and-daughter logo, tying the smallest bag in the family to the same founding imagery.
Materials & craft
The Nano is a small structured leather box finished with a gold-tone cast cat handle — the stretching feline engraved LANVIN along its back — and the round gold Lanvin logo clasp on the front flap. An adjustable, detachable leather shoulder strap clips to gold-tone D-rings for crossbody or shoulder carry. The interior is leather-lined for the bag's pocket-sized contents.
How to choose & style
The Nano is the going-out, hands-free Cat — it holds a phone, cards and a lipstick, worn cross-body or short on the shoulder. The gold handle makes it the more decorative of the two; black leather keeps the rest grounded. It works as the single ornament of an evening look, the gleaming cat reading like jewellery.
