Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp until 1981, where she met the other members of the Six, Yee left the group in 1988. Her path wound through collections for Hobo, Lena Lena and Dirk Bikkembergs, and in 1992 she briefly stepped away from fashion to open a Brussels snack bar. From 2003 she worked from a Brussels studio, remaking pieces from existing garments and second-hand fabrics.
In 2018 she resurfaced in Tokyo with the M.Y. Project — five sustainable designs shown at the boutique Laila — her first public work since 2005, initiating a relaunch that won the Jury Prize at the 2024 Belgian Fashion Awards.
