Story & heritage
Founded by Javid Alavi in London in 1967, Merc grew out of Carnaby Street mod culture and built its reputation on shirts, trousers, parkas, Harrington jackets, shoes, and accessories.
The Harrington is the clearest expression of that lineage: the product page calls it a Merc institution and says it has defined generations.
Materials & craft
The jacket is cut from 60% cotton and 40% polyester with a 100% cotton lining, keeping the shell neat while the inside stays breathable.
That simple build supports the Harrington’s easy, all-season role in the brand’s wardrobe.
How to choose & style
Pick the Harrington for the cleanest Merc silhouette: the cropped shape works best over a tee or Oxford, while darker tones keep it the sharpest.
