Founded as a fashion footwear brand, Nine West grew into handbags, sunglasses, jewelry, watches and accessories, reaching over 800 locations across 57 countries. It acquired the footwear division of the U.S. Shoe Corporation in 1995, was bought by Jones Apparel Group in 1999, and collaborated on capsule collections with names including Vivienne Westwood and Thakoon.
After its North American operations filed for bankruptcy and closed all stores in 2018, the Nine West brand was acquired by Authentic Brands Group, and its products continue to be sold through other retailers.
