Story & heritage
North Sails was founded in 1957 as a sailmaking company, and the Sailor Jacket distills that ocean-first identity into everyday apparel. It reads like a wearable extension of the brand’s marine heritage: practical, wind-aware, and built with the same performance-minded discipline that made North Sails a global name in sailing.
Materials & craft
This version is cut from recycled nylon taslan with a DuPont™ Teflon® finish, then fitted with a two-way zipper, Vislon zipper pockets, ribbed trims, an inside pocket, and REPREVE® padding. The result is a light technical shell with a deliberately classic silhouette.
How to choose & style
Best worn as a sharp all-purpose shell: over a polo for shoulder-season days, or with a fine knit and chinos when the weather turns. The jacket works especially well in saturated colors because the clean lines keep the look disciplined rather than sporty.
