The story starts in 1977, when Lionel Black bought a small workwear company called Risol Products. He began building the Regatta name in 1981, and the company took the name Regatta Ltd in 1996. Its line spans waterproof and breathable jackets, fleeces, trousers, footwear and camping gear for the whole family, with newer additions like battery-heated jackets and torch-equipped Brite Light pieces.
The group's international growth earned it the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade twice, in 2012 and 2013. Regatta sells through major outdoor chains, its own stores and concessions, and online, and has worked with ambassadors including Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff and Giovanna Fletcher.
