Story & heritage
Tori Richard is based in Honolulu and traces its resort-wear story to 1956. The house added men’s shirts in 1969 after a Liberty House request, and cotton lawn became a mainstay of the men’s line in the 1970s.
The official Opalescent shirt keeps that lineage current: it is printed on 100% cotton lawn with screen-cutting techniques Tori Richard says it has refined for more than 60 years.
Materials & craft
The cotton lawn is described by Tori Richard as lightweight, crease-resistant, and treated with a proprietary finish for subtle luster. The Opalescent print is printed in Japan, then hand-cut and sewn in Hawai‘i, USA.
How to choose & style
Choose this when you want the aloha shirt at its sharpest: buttoned cleanly with linen trousers, or open over a white tee when the print should feel relaxed rather than formal.
