Story & heritage
Vilebrequin’s official swimwear copy calls Moorea one of the brand’s classics and traces it to the 1970s under the Saint-Tropez sky, where founder Fred Prysquel shaped a new holiday uniform around ease, colour, and movement.
The model remains the maison’s mid-length reference point: relaxed enough for the beach, refined enough to read as a Vilebrequin signature before the label is visible.
Materials & craft
The official style guide describes Moorea as technical polyamide brushed for softness, quick-dry treated, and finished with hand-assembled rear pockets, drawstrings, and tips. The product page adds side pockets, a drawstring adjustment, and an inner brief without a centre seam.
On the current Tortues Multicolores offer, the pocket placement is hand-aligned with the print, while rear eyelets help reduce ballooning in the water.
How to choose & style
Choose Moorea when you want the most recognisable Vilebrequin proportion. It works cleanly with linen shirts, polos, and bare-feet resort styling because the cut is neither too short nor board-short long.
