Story & heritage
Woolrich’s official heritage page says the Arctic Parka was designed in the 1970s for workers constructing the Alaskan pipeline, and the brand’s parka story dates the need-driven design to 1972. The current official product page keeps that archive language alive, calling the Arctic Parka a high-performance outerwear staple and a style statement in its own right.
Its lasting code is practical rather than decorative: a protective hood, a pocketed front, a wind-facing shell and enough down insulation to make the parka feel purposeful before it feels styled.
Materials & craft
A high-performance outerwear staple that has become a style statement in its own right: be prepared for whatever the day throws your way and boldly embark on your next adventure with the men’s Arctic Parka. Padded with duck down, this item is made from Ramar Cloth, a water-repellent and wind-resistant fabric that provides a barrier against light showers. Finished with a hood and multiple pockets.
Official materials list: Outer: 60% Cotton, 40% Polyamide,Inner: 100% Polyamide,Padding: 90% Grey Duck Down, 10% Feather.
How to choose & style
Choose the Arctic Parka when you want Woolrich at its most legible: straight denim, cords, cargos or wool trousers all work because the silhouette already carries the outdoor history. Dark green feels closest to the archive mood; black makes it more urban.
