The short version: The Row is not one sizing story. Margaux bags are dimension decisions, shoes are IT/EU decisions, and ready-to-wear depends on cut. Treat the number as the start of the fit check, not the end.

Those numbers matter more than the label. The Row Soft Margaux 12 has a 5 in handle drop and a removable shoulder strap, so it solves a different problem than the Soft Margaux 15 with a 6 in handle drop and no shoulder-strap emphasis on the black product page I checked. The Row Soft Margaux 17 is 2 inches wider than the 15 and 5 inches wider than the 12. That is not subtle on the body.

Round Ballet: half sizes help, but width still matters

The elastic tie helps with hold, not length. If your usual IT/EU 38 fits in designer ballet flats, start there. If one foot is wider, if the ball of the foot presses into flat shoes, or if you are between 38 and 38.5, order 38.5 first. A return costs less than trying to make a narrow flat behave.

Boheme MJ: watch the instep

The Boheme MJ Shoe gives more sizing control than the Sock Shoe because it runs IT/EU 35 through 42 with half sizes. The Row lists a $1,100 price, style F1396L25BLK, 0.39 in heel, soft suede leather, smoothly curved vamp, adjustable buckle closure, 100% calfskin leather, leather sole, and Italian manufacture.

The strap is helpful, but it can also create pressure across a raised instep. I would start with the usual IT/EU size for a narrow or average foot, then choose the upper half size for raised instep, wider forefoot, or a history of Mary-Jane straps digging into skin. The Row's suede care note also matters: liquids and solvents can cause staining and darkening, and excessive suede-brush use can damage the leather.

Sock Shoe: whole sizes make the call harder

The Sock Shoe is the clean warning example. The Row lists a $690 price, style F1148AW20BLK, IT/EU 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42 only. No half sizes. The official material list is 100% nylon upper, leather sole, and Italian manufacture.

When a shoe is mesh on top but leather on the bottom, the upper can feel forgiving while the sole still controls length. If you are between 38 and 39, I would order 39. If your heel slips in soft shoes, test the larger size indoors before you remove tags. Do not assume softness equals extra room.

How to measure before ordering

Measure feet at the end of the day. Stand on paper, mark heel and longest toe, then measure both feet in centimeters. Measure width across the ball of each foot. Keep the larger foot as the decision foot. If you have a raised instep, note that too, because straps and vamps often cause the return.
