Story & heritage
The A-2 is central to Avirex’s brand history: Wikipedia notes that Avirex supplied aviation apparel for the U.S. Air Force in the 1980s by re-issuing the A-2 jacket. The current official Vintage Flight A2 Jacket keeps that lineage explicit through flight-patch artwork and a vintage brown finish.
Unlike the more graphic Icon Jacket, this piece reads closer to the historical flight-jacket vocabulary: a compact leather body, aviation patches and a lived-in colourway.
Materials & craft
The official product page specifies 100% antique European lamb leather with vintage flight patches. The shape is a leather flight jacket with ribbed trim and applied patch artwork.
How to choose & style
Vintage brown is the natural choice for a heritage flight-jacket look. Wear it with denim, chinos or fatigues; avoid competing graphics so the patches remain the point.
