Blaze Bag

A curved, saddle-like shoulder bag clasped by the gold PB labyrinth plaque — a baroque-tinged Rousteing design.

Story & heritage

The Blaze is one of Olivier Rousteing's newer handbag designs, introduced across the house's late collections and rooted, the maison has said, in a 1990s-souvenir, baroque-leaning spirit. Its silhouette is its own — a softly curved, saddle-like body that sets it apart from the rigid B-Buzz and the slouchy 1945.

Like the rest of the Rousteing-era accessory line, it makes a single house code the whole point: the gold PB labyrinth monogram, a geometric reading of founder Pierre Balmain's initials, set as a plaque at the centre of the flap.

Materials & craft

The Blaze is built in smooth calfskin (with croc-effect, quilted and embellished variants across seasons) over a structured, curved frame. The front carries the gold-tone PB monogram plaque as both ornament and a magnetic closure, flanked by buckle straps and gold studs that frame the rounded body. A leather top handle and a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap allow hand, shoulder and cross-body carry.

How to choose & style

The Blaze is the most overtly decorative of the house's core bags — the curved body and the gold PB plaque give it presence without needing colour. Black leather with gold is the cleanest reading; carried on the shoulder, it finishes tailoring or denim with the monogram front and centre. A more limited, seasonal design, it is the one to chase pre-owned when retail stock runs out.
