Story & heritage
The card holder is the most accessible way into Balmain's leather world — a compact, pocket-scale object that carries the house's two core signals: the PB labyrinth monogram, a geometric reading of founder Pierre Balmain's initials, and the gold BALMAIN PARIS wordmark.
It belongs to the small-leather-goods family Olivier Rousteing built out alongside the bags after launching the maison's first accessory line in 2017 — wallets, key rings and card holders that translate the full identity of the house onto an everyday item.
Materials & craft
The card holder is made from monogram jacquard backed with calfskin trim, the PB labyrinth pattern woven across one face in black and ivory and the gold BALMAIN PARIS lettering stamped on the leather reverse. It carries flat card slots in a slim, stitched-edge format, finished with a small gold-tone chain charm. The line scales up to coin-and-card holders and full wallets in the same monogram.
How to choose & style
The PB card holder is the easy gateway buy — slim enough to live in a pocket or slot into any of the bags, and the monogram jacquard makes it instantly legible as Balmain. The black-and-ivory monogram is the recognisable icon; plain calfskin versions read quieter. It is the natural first Balmain purchase and an easy gift.
