Selya is stocked by Bellerose and US boutiques as a simple leather wardrobe staple. It belongs in the icon set because it distils the brand's accessory language: practical, slightly vintage, and not over-branded.
Bellerose Belgium SA/NV is headquartered in Groot-Bijgaarden, near Brussels. The company was started by Jean-Pierre Delhaye, Charly Bouvy, and Patrick Van Heurck in 1989 with a line of men's shirts; the name refers to Bellerose, New York. Its first women's collection followed in 1998 and its children's line in 2002.
Materials & craft
The official burgundy Selya is a classic smooth leather belt with an aged brass circular buckle and 3.5 cm width. Garmentory's Selya copy also notes premium leather, double punches and double prongs on related versions.
How to choose & style
Use Selya to pull volume back into shape: over a shirt dress, through Pasop trousers, or at the waist of wide denim. Burgundy and cognac feel warmer; black is the most minimal.
