Story & heritage
Bernhard Willhelm founded his namesake house with Jutta Kraus in 1998; the label debuted womenswear in 1999 and menswear in 2000 after his Antwerp training and early work with Walter van Beirendonck, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, and Dirk Bikkembergs.
The Patch Pocket Shirt is sold in Bernhard Willhelm’s current SSENSE edit, where utility-shirt codes meet the house’s embroidered graphic back and exaggerated corduroy texture.
Materials & craft
SSENSE describes the shirt as stretch cotton corduroy with a spread collar, concealed button closure, patch and welt pockets, adjustable single-button barrel cuffs, a droptail hem, black hardware, and 98% cotton / 2% elastane construction made in the Netherlands.
How to choose & style
Let the shirt replace a light jacket: button it over a plain tank, or pair the brown and yellow colorways with matching corduroy pants for a full Willhelm set.
