Story & heritage
Mentis Freebird belongs to blackcrows’ Freebird touring language, a line the brand history identifies as launched in 2012 for ski touring.
A ski born from the desire to develop a thin, high-performance and very light plaything, but with the aim of achieving very high skiability in this category. A width of 80mm gives it comfort and assurance, while maintining a light weight. The Mentis is all about technology for great feelings in soft snow and precise handling in rough terrain. When you can move to the top very quickly, you are able to look down with delight. The possibilities of the Mentis know no boundaries.
Materials & craft
The official help center states that blackcrows resort, all-terrain and big-mountain skis use a poplar wood core with mixed fiberglass, while the Freebird series uses a lighter paulownia wood core with carbon fiber and fiberglass.
How to choose & style
Choose Mentis Freebird when you want the blackcrows look in a fast ascent role: graphic, mountain-first and easier to style with pared-back technical layers than with loud resort logos.
For a coherent kit, pair the skis with neutral shells, one high-saturation blackcrows accent and understated accessories so the product graphic stays the visual focus.
