Story & heritage
The Virgilio Tuxedo Blazer is Brioni’s official eveningwear icon. The icon page shows cotton velvet, wool, jacquard silk and even 24K gold-and-silk jacquard versions, placing the line squarely in the house’s formal wardrobe.
It extends the Brioni suit language into dinner dressing: less corporate than the Brunico, more dramatic than the Soffio, and built around texture.
Materials & craft
Current Virgilio listings include cotton velvet, wool and black jacquard silk. Official copy for the black jacquard silk version calls out a herringbone jacquard texture, while the icon page lists multiple velvet colors.
The jacket is strongest when the fabric is the decoration. A clean shirt, bow tie and plain trousers keep velvet or jacquard from becoming costume.
How to choose & style
Black is the safest formal option; navy velvet is softer and more cinematic. Colored velvet works best for private evening events, with the rest of the outfit stripped back.
