The Original Goatskin Driving Shoes
The Original made richer and more tactile through brushed goatskin and tassel detail.
Story & heritage
This goatskin version keeps the Original in the same 1963 lineage but shifts the mood from easy suede to a darker, more dressed-up loafer. It is still explicitly tied to the patented driving shoe: the official description connects the style back to the original model and its dotted rubber sole.
The tassels give the shoe a stronger loafer signal without removing the Car Shoe signature. It is a useful expression of how the house expands one archetype through leather, finish, and trim rather than through unrelated categories.
Materials & craft
The upper is soft goatskin, hand-brushed for an antique finish that creates deeper tonal variation across the surface. The pair uses the same cucita su forma construction, described by Car Shoe as an 800-step handcrafted process, and keeps the dotted rubber sole embedded directly into the bottom.
How to choose & style
Choose this when the suede driver feels too beach-bound. The darker antique finish works with pleated trousers, knit polos, and unstructured jackets; the tassels add just enough formality while the rubber sole keeps the shoe casual.
