Story & heritage
The Aluminium Carry-on pushes Carl Friedrik’s travel range toward a more mechanical, mid-century expression. Its official page positions aluminium as a travel statement and describes the surface as one that will develop a unique patina.
This icon sits beside the hybrid case as the more assertive, collector-minded option: the same cabin role, but with visible rivets, grooves and a shell designed to record journeys over time.
Materials & craft
The official page describes an anodised aluminium shell, bespoke steel rivets, combination locks, steel-reinforced corners, vegetable-tanned leather detailing and 360° silent spinner wheels. The materials page separately explains why aluminium is used for sturdiness in the luggage range.
A built-in compression packing system and zippered garment compartment make the interior more structured than the exterior’s simple ribbed geometry suggests.
How to choose & style
Treat the silver shell like a metal watch or camera body: marks become part of the object. Black trim is the cleanest choice; cognac or chocolate leather softens the engineering feel.
