Story & heritage
Cesare Attolini acquired Fioroni, the Umbria knitwear manufacturer founded in 1978 in Castiglione del Lago, in 2015. The Canzone del Mare knitted polo is a direct expression of that knitwear chapter inside the Attolini world.
Michael Jondral says this polo was made in the Fioroni knitting mill in Castiglione del Lago and links its mood to historic summer-resort culture. It is casual, but not ordinary.
Materials & craft
The listing specifies 55% silk and 45% linen, fully fashioned knitting, a jacquard rib pattern, contrast polo collar, four-button placket and handmade production. The silk-linen blend gives the polo fluidity rather than the dry feel of a basic cotton knit.
Fully fashioned construction means the garment is shaped through knitting rather than simply cut from flat fabric, aligning it with the craft standards of the broader house.
How to choose & style
Wear it with linen trousers for the most sartorial reading, or with white Amalfi jeans for a softer resort look. It also sits cleanly under an unlined jacket because the collar has shape.
Natural and sand tones keep it understated; if layered, choose a jacket with texture rather than a smooth worsted suit.
