Story & heritage
The Classic Cable Bracelet is the clearest expression of David Yurman’s house signature. The official Cable page traces the form to 1982, when David Yurman twisted fifty feet of wire by hand to create the first Cable bracelet; the twisted helix has since become the motif that runs through the brand’s collections.
The company itself grew from David and Sybil Yurman’s sculpture, painting and craft background in New York, so Cable reads less like a logo than a sculptural line translated into jewelry.
Materials & craft
David Yurman’s artistic signature, Cable began as a bracelet that he hand-twisted from 50 feet of wire. For over 40 years, he has evolved the twisted helix into a myriad of designs. Official specifications list: Sterling silver with 18-karat yellow gold; Bracelet, 4mm.
How to choose & style
Start here for the Yurman stack: one silver-and-gold Cable bracelet works alone, while several widths or gemstone end caps build a more collected wrist. The two-tone version is easiest to mix with both silver and gold jewelry.
