The official Vaughan Big Date copy calls it “Eterna’s Masterpiece” and links it to the brand’s tradition of elegant men’s watches, including the 1956 Centenaire and 1962 Eterna-Matic 3000 Dato.
Its importance sits inside the movement: Eterna’s text says the calibre 3030 was developed as an automatic big-date movement and was the slimmest in its class.
Materials & craft
Official retail copy describes an own manufacture calibre with big date display, using two separate date discs for larger numerals, and product data offers the watch on leather or steel in a 42 mm format.
How to choose & style
The black leather version is the purest dress watch; the steel bracelet makes the big date read more contemporary. It is best worn clean, with the oversized date as the only flourish.
