Founded in 2013 within the TechStyle Fashion Group, Fabletics is an active-lifestyle brand built on a membership model, pairing personalised outfit picks with weekly capsule releases.

Co-founded by Adam Goldenberg, Don Ressler and Ginger Ressler, the brand took off after Kate Hudson took a 20% stake in 2015 and became the face of the women's line. It grew into TechStyle's fastest-growing label, surpassing $500 million in annual revenue and 2 million members by 2020, and expanded into menswear that year with Kevin Hart as investor and frontman.

Fabletics sells women's sizes XXS-4X and men's XS-XXL, opening its first stores in 2015 and growing to more than 100 brick-and-mortar locations, including its first non-US store in Berlin in 2021. Its proprietary OmniSuite platform ties e-commerce, point of sale and order management across every store.

Fabletics shopping FAQ

Is the Fabletics VIP Membership worth it?+

It depends entirely on whether you use it. Fabletics runs on a subscription model, branded the VIP Membership Program, that unlocks member discounts, perks and personalized outfit picks based on your lifestyle and preferences. If you buy activewear regularly and actually redeem the benefits each month, members tend to find it good value; if you forget about it, the recurring fee works against you.

How do I cancel a Fabletics membership?+

This is the single most-searched Fabletics question, and the answer matters: the company has said customers must call to cancel, because emails can contain inadequate information to process a cancellation. So plan to reach a live agent rather than assuming you can opt out silently. Knowing that going in saves a lot of frustration later.

How does Fabletics compare to Lululemon?+

They sit at different points on the value scale. Fabletics is an active lifestyle brand built around its membership pricing and frequent new capsules, while Lululemon is positioned as a premium, buy-once label. Many shoppers feel Lululemon edges ahead on fabric feel and longevity, whereas Fabletics wins on price-per-piece and variety if you work the membership, plus far broader sizing.

Is Fabletics activewear actually good quality?+

Reviews are mixed, which is fair given how wide the range is. Fabletics sells men's and women's sportswear, footwear and accessories and releases new capsules constantly, so quality can vary style to style. Buyers who pick carefully and lean on member pricing generally feel they get strong value, even if it isn't always the most premium fabric on the market.

Does Fabletics offer inclusive sizing?+

Yes, and it's a genuine selling point. Fabletics releases women's capsules in sizes XXS to 4X and men's in XS to XXL, covering a wider span than many activewear brands. It also partnered with Lizzo to launch a size-inclusive shapewear brand called Yitty. For shoppers outside the usual straight-size range, that breadth is a real draw.

Who founded Fabletics, and what is Kate Hudson's role?+

Fabletics was founded in 2013 by Adam Goldenberg, Don Ressler and Ginger Ressler under the TechStyle Fashion Group incubator. In 2015 actress Kate Hudson took a 20% stake and became the face of a Fabletics line, helping it become TechStyle's fastest-growing label. In January 2022 she shifted from principal face of the brand to an advisory role.

Does Fabletics make menswear?+

It does. Fabletics expanded into menswear in April 2020, signing Kevin Hart as both an investor and the face of the new line. The men's range follows the same capsule rhythm as the women's, with new pieces released monthly in sizes XS to XXL. So the membership model now spans both sides of the catalogue.

Are there any controversies I should know about before joining Fabletics?+

There are a couple worth noting. A 2021 Time investigation into Hippo Knitting, a Lesotho supplier, reviewed reports from workers alleging abuse, after which production there stopped; Fabletics said it would work to remedy the situation. Separately, in March 2025 consumers filed a California lawsuit alleging the brand misled customers about its VIP Membership Program. Both are good context before signing up.

How does Fabletics decide what to send me?+

The membership is built around personalization: Fabletics offers members outfits chosen for them based on their lifestyle and fashion preferences, and it releases capsules on a regular cadence, weekly for women and monthly for men. The brand also stocks its physical stores based on its online sales trends. The idea is a curated drip of pieces rather than browsing a static catalogue.

Where can I shop Fabletics besides online?+

Beyond its website, Fabletics operates over 100 brick-and-mortar stores, so you can try pieces in person before committing. That physical footprint, unusual for a subscription-first brand, lets you check fit and fabric directly. Buying through the official site or its own stores is also the surest way to get genuine product and the proper membership terms.
