Story & heritage
Filson says its original Jac-Shirt entered the line some fifty years ago and served outdoorsmen across a broad range of conditions. The Mackinaw version pushes that format into colder weather with the brand’s thick wool.
It sits between shirt and jacket, which is exactly the Filson zone: practical, warm, and tough enough to move from workbench to trail without a costume change.
Materials & craft
The Mackinaw Wool Jac-Shirt is made with Filson’s thickest, warmest Mackinaw Wool. A button-secure front, adjustable cuffs, and flapped chest pockets make it easy to vent, close down, or carry small essentials without moving into full coat territory.
How to choose & style
Use it over a tee or chambray in shoulder season, or under a waxed shell when rain enters the forecast. Plaids are the icon; solid or twill checks feel calmer.
