Story & heritage
Fjällräven’s official Greenland history says Åke Nordin released the Greenland Jacket in 1968 after expedition feedback, using his new G-1000 material and Greenland Wax for wind and water resistance.
The modern product page still calls it Fjällräven’s classic jacket from 1968: a hardwearing favourite for both nature and town.
Materials & craft
Official product features list wind- and water-resistant G-1000 made with recycled polyester and organic cotton, a fixed hood, two-way front zipper with buttoned protective flap, and double-layer reinforcement over shoulders and elbows.
How to choose & style
Treat it like a waxed field jacket: over knitwear in cold weather, over a tee in spring, or with Vidda/Keb trousers when you want the full Fjällräven uniform.
