Girard-Perregaux says the sober lines of the Vintage 1945 evoke early twentieth-century aesthetic heritage and place Art Deco geometry at the centre of the design.
The model’s straight lines, curves, applied numerals, small seconds and railway minute track are described as inspired by the first Vintage 1945 model.
Materials & craft
Official specifications for the XXL Large Date and Moon Phases list a stainless-steel case, sapphire glass, 36.10 x 35.25 mm case size and Calibre GP03300.
The large date uses two very thin discs, including a transparent disc listed at 0.10 mm thick, with an instant date change.
How to choose & style
Use it as the non-round dress watch: it gives a suit or soft knit the geometry of a vintage object without looking antique.
The rectangle works especially well with black leather, narrow cuffs and monochrome tailoring.
