Story & heritage
The Aerohead Mips Helmet carries one of Giro’s most historic names. Giro’s timeline traces Aerohead to 1989 and says an American rider used aerodynamic equipment including the Aerohead helmet to win the Tour de France by eight seconds.
The current product page says the Aerohead Mips was designed in the wind tunnel, tested on the track, and proven with record-breaking times at the Tour de France and Ironman World Championships.
Materials & craft
Official details describe an aerodynamically efficient profile, lightweight polycarbonate shell, Wind Tunnel ventilation and internal channeling. The helmet also has a wrap-around eye shield with Optics by ZEISS and a magnetic anchor attachment.
How to choose & style
Choose this piece by the ride first: fast road, trail, snow or gravity use changes the right shell, lens or sole more than colour does.
For styling, Giro works best as technical punctuation: matte blacks stay minimal, while white, sage, blue or high-visibility finishes make the equipment a visible part of the kit.
