Story & heritage
Nixon’s origin-story article calls the 51-30 Chrono one of the brand’s most iconic and recognizable watches. It started as a “deserted island watch” thought experiment and became the oversized model people now use as shorthand for Nixon at its boldest.
The design logic is pure utility scaled up: the 51mm case exists to improve legibility, and the crown moved to 9 o’clock to keep the watch from biting the wrist when worn in the usual position.

The 51-30 Chrono pairs a 51mm stainless steel case with a chronograph layout, custom molded hands, large printed indices, and 30 ATM water resistance. It is a big watch designed to stay readable at a glance.
