Story & heritage
Sinn describes the 556 I with “striking form, sparse dial design, superior readability” and explicitly links the series to the brand’s pilot and navigation cockpit clocks. It is the house’s cleanest time-and-date gateway: no bezel, no chronograph, just the Sinn dial grammar reduced to essentials.
Its popularity comes from that restraint. The 556 I makes the brand’s technical reputation wearable for everyday life without asking the wearer to commit to a large mission timer.
Materials & craft
The 38.5 mm satinized stainless-steel case has sapphire crystal on both sides, a screw-down crown, 20-bar water resistance and an SW200-1 automatic movement. Sinn also lists low-pressure resistance and magnetic-field protection to 4,800 A/m.
How to choose & style
The 556 I is Sinn at its most universal. On a bracelet it becomes a one-watch collection; on leather it feels more architectural and discreet. Its black-and-white dial makes it unusually easy to wear with monochrome wardrobes.
