Story & heritage
Wikipedia says Sunspel began using Sea Island cotton toward the end of the 19th century, then made some of the world’s first T-shirts from Sea Island cotton jersey in the early 20th century. Sunspel’s Sea Island collection page says the brand has worked with the fibre for over a century.
The current Sea Island Cotton T-shirt makes that archive material wearable as a contemporary essential, cut to the same fit as the Classic T-shirt.
