Story & heritage

Tracy Reese launched her namesake label in New York in 1998, later building the Plenty, Frock! and Black Label lines before returning to Detroit with Hope for Flowers in 2019. The current collection keeps the designer's known language of rich colour, print and feminine ready-to-wear, but reframes it through smaller-batch, responsibly sourced materials.

In that current Hope for Flowers wardrobe, the Draped Surplice Dress stands out because the official product page gives it a clear silhouette: 53% Viscose 44% Ecovero 3% Spandex Sleeveless dress has a V-neck surplice bodice with ruched hip yoke and surplice front skirt Ecovero™ is a standard that ensures the fibers used in a viscose fabric come from sustainably certified forests. EcoVero's viscose is made using sustainable wood from controlled sources: FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes). Recycled power net lining Invisible zipper at back 44’’ length

How to choose & style

Wear it as the expressive piece in the outfit rather than layering on competing statements; Reese's colour and surface detail usually carry the look on their own.

For the most versatile read, pair the silhouette with simple sandals, low jewellery and a compact bag; for a more editorial read, echo one colour from the print or trim elsewhere in the outfit.
