Story & heritage
Vetements’ Spring 2017 couture-week project was built from collaborations with heritage and mass brands; Vogue named Alpha Industries among the partners. The bomber remains one of the cleanest ways that idea translates into product: a familiar flight-jacket archetype made strange through proportion, seams, and hood construction.
Materials & craft
The current SSENSE listing describes an insulated nylon satin bomber jacket with exposed seams, an embroidered-logo jersey hood, zip closure, flap waist pockets, rib-knit hem and cuffs, a utility sleeve pocket, interior welt pockets, full lining, and polyester fill. It is listed as part of the VETEMENTS x Alpha Industries collaboration.
How to choose & style
Wear it as outerwear volume, not just a jacket. It balances best over slim black layers, long denim, or a plain tee with heavy boots; the hood softens the military reference.
