Story & heritage
The Escalante 4 is the streamlined road icon in Altra’s lineup. Official copy says it was built as a nod to the fan-favorite Escalante 1.5, with FootShape fit, greater flexibility and a lighter weight.
Where Torin is plush and daily, Escalante keeps the brand’s origin story closer to the pavement: a simpler zero-drop platform, a forgiving knit upper and enough ground feel for speedwork, walks and everyday errands.

Altra lists an engineered knit upper, Altra EGO™ midsole, rubber outsole, 0mm drop, 24mm stack height, low cushion, neutral support and Original FootShape™ fit. The knit upper and lower stack are the defining materials story.
