Originally focused on manufacturing fine jewelry for other luxury houses, the company transitioned into a fashion-jewelry brand in 2012 under Philippe Prette, now CEO, and his wife Kika Prette as Creative Director. Production moved to China in 1992, and the company is headquartered in Hong Kong and Monaco; in 2019 TPG Capital acquired a 30% stake.
Retail growth has been rapid: the first branded boutiques opened in Cannes and Rome in 2013, and by 2025 APM Monaco operated over 500 boutiques in more than 26 countries, employing around 2,300 people.
