The founding team of owner-riders included Tanner Hall, the late JP Auclair, JF Cusson, Julien Regnier, Eric Iberg and Boyd Easley, launching with two freestyle skis, the AR5 and ARV. The model is the message: pro skiers design their own products and are rewarded with equity, and Armada is credited with pushing mainstream skiing in a younger, more dynamic direction through unusual graphics and savvy marketing.
Now based in Park City, Utah — moved from its founding home in Costa Mesa in 2014 — Armada makes skis, boots, poles, technical outerwear and softgoods sold in over forty countries, with a European office in Innsbruck. In March 2017 it was acquired by Finnish winter-sports group Amer Sports.
