Story & heritage
Berghaus history records a Gore-Tex PacLite range arriving in 1999 as lightweight, packable, waterproof and breathable outerwear. The Paclite Pant is the clearest surviving expression of that idea.
It is iconic less for how it looks than for what it frees you to do: carry full waterproof leg protection without committing much space or weight until the weather demands it.
Materials & craft
The official Paclite Pant is built around GORE-TEX PACLITE protection, packability and ventilation. It is designed as an overtrouser: light enough to compress into a pack, protective enough to pull on when rain arrives, and simple enough to survive repeat hill use.
How to choose & style
These are not fashion trousers; treat them as the technical emergency layer. They work over walking trousers and trail shoes, and they make most sense in black because the point is disappearing into the kit list until needed.
