Métiers d’Art Shakudō
A Blancpain art-watch showcase where hand engraving, damascening and shakudō turn the dial into a miniature work.
Story & heritage
Blancpain’s Métiers d’Art collection is the house’s showcase for decorative watchmaking: unique motifs, client personalisation and rare craft techniques. The Shakudō works are among its clearest signatures.
Rather than one fixed model, this icon is a small universe of one-off or highly individual dials where Blancpain’s watchmakers and artisans make the dial the centre of the watch.
Materials & craft
Blancpain states that the Métiers d’Art collection uses traditional decorative techniques, including shakudō. The official Shakudō product page lists a 45 mm red-gold case, manual caliber 15B and a hand-decorated, engraved, gold-damascened shakudō dial.
How to choose & style
This is not a neutral dress watch; it is wearable miniature art. Choose it for private collector appeal, evening texture and moments where a rare dial matters more than instant brand recognition.
